Good morning Trudy,
Thank you for all your comments. I must look out for Kiltrea Bridge pottery.
To-day in county Clare - it rained all night but now the sun is shining!

Good man Git - you never lost it. ......and Frank Lunny spent the night up a tree and poor Liz lost her teeth in Enfield.....and Pike Keegan split his skull on the basement flags but the same pre-med could only laugh and talk rubbish about cowboys and Indians .....and long before that old Jack Mack was "killing some clock beetles" on the same flag floor.....nowadays it is called sean nos dancing....he just called it doing the batter! ......and Tommy McComack was hungry so went off to shoot a Guinea hen but came back with a pigeon..... the Guinea fowl had fled to a neighbours farm for protection....the pigeon was not worth plucking....ah yes and old Myra Reddy says "you cant bate the youth".....and Hamish rode the bike down the secret tunnel ...now slowly turning into the most public tunnel in Kildare....and was it Billy Connolly that sat on the bar? ...and long before that the same unsettled traveler was singing the "Dingle Puck Goat" to Ciarán Bourke and in walks a sergeant of the Gardai in clean shiny uniform....with a full set of magic pipes in a case.....and later again the wonderful same Anne Carmel sang Blackwaters Side and melted me heart forever as I tried to coort her in a celler....what a pity she did'nt like bats!.....and later again even...was it Billy Parkinson that was detailed to Chaperone the same Anne Carmel on a crazy return sea voyage from Holyhead?....no kissing allowed only hand holding! And who fell down the stony steps going down to the basement saying he saw no steps .....not a brack on him as he was well padded....LETS have MORE....

Janey Mack Dabra but twas only a humdinger of a session...that Anne Carmel can keep a secret...I slept in Jack Reddy's on the way home and Paddy Kenny was still chattin up The Emmet Spiceland...Maura kept bringin in more sangwidges to Pats kitchen and Mickey Carroll was knockin sparks out of a Clarkes whistle...by the time we got back to the basement the fire was blazing and the woodworms were dizzy with tunes..there was antique rogues, army officers, bank officials, unsettled travellers,pre-meds,hoors from Boolea, egg dealers....when it was time for breakfast lame hens were executed with buckshot and feathers and all went into the cauldron....then we all clambered aboard Mick Curran's sturdy Bedford and set sail for Boyle calling into Pat's and Coffey's of Lecarrow for refreshment with further delays in Armstrongs of Carrick on Shannon and the Kon-Tiki bar in Lanesboro...Bridie gave us a Boyle welcome and we all ended up on the (turf) wagon

So delighted I could spend this day with you and Anne and the gang!

I think you should consider becoming an I-Member of Derry Playhouse Writers when our new website is finalized. I'll send the link when it's up and running! By the way I doubt Pauline told you but we have commissioned a play about Francis Ledgwick whom, as I remember, you mother lectured about in the States.

Whenever you give up exporting Ireland's wealth of antiques you will make a fortune as a writer! It's a long time since I read such an entertaining piece by an 'amateur' author -- or have I missed a succession of best-sellers? You're a mighty man, with a mighty family behind you.
